Program Content

The NewSpace Catalonia Accelerator is a 4-month tailored NewSpace accelerator program for startups based out of Catalonia, serving as a platform for disruptive space entrepreneurs to expand their business on a global scale.

The program is composed of one-on-one sessions with dedicated mentors, lectures from international experts and networking opportunities, creating a vibrant ecosystem for collaboration and growth where all stakeholders can converge and find synergies. The program will wrap up with a final Demo Day taking place in June, in the dynamic city of Barcelona.

How do I apply?

The NewSpace Catalonia Accelerator is an equity-free and free of charge program, open to startups based in Catalonia who look forward to expanding their horizons by engaging with international mentors, corporations and investors in the space industry.

Catalonia as a NewSpace hub

Catalonia has a rich and international startup legacy, being considered one of the best entrepreneurial hubs in Europe by startup founders. Catalonia hosts prestigious universities and laboratories, and is backed by a very long tradition of venture capital presence, even for deeptech industries.

Through the NewSpace Catalonia Accelerator, the region consolidates its position as a global hub for the development of NewSpace companies and the rest of the deeptech sectors that can greatly benefit from the synergies and value creation derived.

The Government of Catalonia is promoting the NewSpace Strategy for Catalonia, which deploys a programme of specific initiatives to enhance the Catalan NewSpace ecosystem and lead the way in the generation of knowledge, its application in the social and business spheres, and the creation of new data-based solutions provided by the use of new technologies in this field, in order to stimulate economic growth and improve people's lives.

The NewSpace Strategy was approved in October 2020,  and relies on the collaboration of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC), the i2CAT Foundation and the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia.
